The following should tell you something about me!

I believe that the “God” of our ancestors, whether recent or ancient, is no longer relevant  to the ever evolving world in which our children and their peers live. Today’s sciences and astronomy necessitate a new understanding about the transcendent, mysterious creator, source of the universe.

“God” identified “God” to Moses as I AM WHO I AM, indicating His self-existent, eternal, and unchanging nature.

I welcome a healthy dialog among believers and nonbelievers. I oppose ad hominem responses. I agree with Daniel Patrick Moynihan who said, “You are entitled to your opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.” I hold the opinion that scholarly research in biblical hermeneutics, anthropology, archaeology,  and theology can be disputed but not denied. The transparency of the social, ethical and theological history of the  Roman Catholic Church is crucial to its reputation and legacy as the Magisterial authority and its pastoral leadership, no matter whether one is a current or former member of of that Church
